Introducing Preschoolers to the Gospel
A 2011 study by the Barna Group found that 70% of kids who grow up in church end up leaving the church.
That’s 7 out of 10 of the kids in your ministry.
If you have 100 kids in your ministry, that’s 70 kids.
If you have 10 kids in your small group, that’s 7 kids.
Good isn’t good enough.
Kids need Jesus.
Preschoolers need Jesus.
We give preschoolers Jesus by giving preschoolers the gospel.
Jesus taught us that the entire Bible exists for this purpose, so let’s strive to teach the Bible in a gospel centered way for a gospel centered purpose.
Let’s root kids in the Word of God, not in their own goodness or experiences.

God wrote a book, and it exists to point us to Jesus. The Old Testament tells us, “Jesus is coming!” The New Testament tells us, “Jesus is here, and He’s coming back!”
Introducing preschoolers to the Gospel roots their faith in the Word, not their experiences.
-Kids who have their hope rooted in the hope of the gospel stand firm.
When you study Scripture to teach, ask…
-What does this story tell us about Jesus?
-How are these characters like Jesus? How are they unlike Jesus?
-How is story part of the redemptive story?
Practical ways to teach Jesus at the center…
-”The Bible is good, true, and all about Jesus.”
-”Jesus lived, loved, died and rose to make us friends with God.”
